Social Event

The social event will be a guided tour on Monday the 7th of October, starting at the conference venue and ending at the historical brewery tavern Schlenkerla in the historic district of Bamberg.

The subject of the tour is "Bamberg und sein flüssiges Brot" (Bamberg and its liquid bread). The Bamberg brewing can pride itself a nearly 900-year tradition, if one grades monasteries and convents as the first breweries. Already in the 12th Century Bambergs beer was exported as a valuable asset to distant land. Even today, the beer of Bamberg is an important factor for the quality of life in this city.
